Stage 6: Inauguration of the Stupas

After Stupa construction is finished, it is inaugurated or consecrated. During the special ceremony, a Buddhist lama performs a puja, a special meditation sung in Tibetan to the accompaniment of ritual trumpets and drums. Thus he/she invites Buddhas to enter the Stupa so that it becomes an enlightened power field for the benefit of all beings.

Inauguration lasts for several hours. At the end of it, participants go round the Stupa in the clockwise direction.

Sherab Gyaltsen Ripoche will inaugurate the Stupas in Krasnoyarsk and on Lake Baikal.
